For all of those that want to understand about what really happened please read the book. The book it self explains some main carcters in his life that were not shown in this movie also the real reson why he went on that second expedition

This is about glory not climbing. There is no point other than selfishness. People walk over the bodies of dying people to get to the top of this mountain. What more is there to be achieved?
