Ladies' Saturday Retreat at Sussex County Community College 4/2/2011

Take some time for yourself at Sussex County Community College (SCCC)'s Ladies' Saturday Retreat scheduled for Saturday, April 2nd beginning at 12 noon. Lisa Alexander, Certified EcoBroker and CEO/Founder of Live Better Live Green, will be the keynote speaker.

The Ladies' Saturday Retreat (formerly known as Women's Weekend) is an opportunity for women ages 18 and older to gather for an inspirational day of workshops and activities as well as food, fun and laughter. The event kicks off at noon with a lunch café with local restaurant's food tasting and exclusive vendors.

Immediately following lunch, Lisa Alexander will address the guests. Alexander is the Founder and CEO of Live Better Live Green, Inc., a company committed to educating the public on how to live healthier, more sustainable and practical "green" lives. Ms. Alexander is a LEED AP, (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council); Certified EcoBroker & Ecosociate, Green Living Expert, Corporate Sustainability Officer, Sustainable Green Building Consultant and her company is a member of the United States Green Building Council. Dubbed as "The Queen of Green," Ms. Alexander has been described as a female Bob Villa and Green Martha Steward rolled into one. She is an expert in green home renovation and design, organic cooking, sustainable business and everyday green living.

Interesting workshops focused on the day's theme of Activate, Rejuvenate and Motivate will take place throughout the afternoon. A gourmet dinner will be served at the end of the day and all participants will receive a free ticket to enjoy Dena Blizzard, nationally renowned comedian and her One Funny Mother Show at 7:30 in the Performing Arts Center. All proceeds from Ladies' Saturday Retreat will support a scholarship for a female student at SCCC.

Exhibitors and vendors will be available all day for guests to shop and gather community information on issues that matter most to women. Vendors will sell discounted specialty products such as crafts, art work and cosmetics.

Tickets for Ladies Retreat are $65 and include the café luncheon, gourmet dinner, the evening performance and all workshops.
