Vancouver - DTES - Open Injection

the reality is that there is a dire lack of treatment facilities. there is a reason why the DTES is concentrated - it has everything to do with the NIMBY philosophy. there are no easy answers.

VERY unethical - why do people feel so incredibly entitled that they could walk down ANY street and film people - let alone recording an infamous neighbourhood for their own personal gain - really, any video posted on youtube is posted with an intent - this does not help anyone - rather it perpetuates an image that hides the biopolitics that construct a neighbourhood like the DTES. Seriously, everyone needs social services, not some yahoo walking down the street filming them.

She can do whatever she wants! Who are you to tell her what to film and what not to. You have your opinion sure, as does she, can you see that? "Everyone needs social services, not some Yahoo walking down the street". What the hell are you getting at? And making people aware is not harmfull in anyway, it can only have a positive outcome. Your negative attitude wont allow you to see this im guessing, and your closed mind doesnt help either.

After killing off the criminals, we can then reopen those institutions that were closed down. I'm tired of hearing about druglords and crime in Vancouver. It's time our justice system stopped sympathising with these thugs and gave them the iron fist. Pin them to a wall and shoot them in the back of the head. I actually wouldn't mind if we started building death camps for these repeat offenders who disturb the peace.

The downtown Eastside really disappoints me. I'm a 19-year-old autistic male and I've never done a drug in my life. I live in Squamish and it really upsets me to see people with mental disabilities suffer like this. The only thing I have going against these people is that I wasn't stupid enough to do drugs in the first place. These people are the targets of the drug dealers and give gangs money. I say execute the gang members and drug dealers in the most brutal way possible.

I think they're more likely a symptom of being an idiot, I mean everyone knows how dangerous a drug like heroin or crack cocaine is, why would they even try it?

homeless are everywhere ... drugs are everywhere .. get over it .. society sucks .. to have to eat shit for some homeless people who cant get thier lives together no thanks .. ive seen a lot of homeless who shouldnt be homeless ... they are able bodied and minded just like to be lazy asses and collect off us tax payers .. go back to hugging trees because you obviously dont relize how tough real life is if this shit gets you down ...
