"Dammit Mamet"
American Buffalo playwright David Mamet has a distinct style when writing dialogue. His raw, gritty characters often spout off in short, unfinished sentences, riddled with colorful obscenities. To showcase (and poke a little fun at) this flood of profanities, we have used Mamet's language within another art form also commonly known for its vulgarity: rap. In our rap, two excited "Mametheads" gush about their eagerness to see American Buffalo live on stage! To showcase their love, they craft lyrics out of Mamet's dialogue, using some of the most jaw dropping lines of the script.
Contains mature content. Original lyrics by Kiirstn Pagan. Lines from the script of American Buffalo by David Mamet. Music by Matt Pagan. Featuring local comedians Alex Braslavsky and Dan Friedman, and CENTERSTAGE intern Marie Roth.
