So, how's the ATB treating ya dude? What are the preamps like?
-
Solid console dude ; ) but how much was the Jesus figure?
-
why does it sound like everytime you do a video, you're sucking on a cough drop?

I can fully relate! I have a Neotek, not Toft but went through much of the same things with long days of wiring, etc. I'd be interested to know what kind of client base you have and what your studio does. Just curious since times are so tuff.

Why did you go with 2 DA instead of 2AD ? I'm interested in getting a Toft myself.

@bradtwo I actually have plans of switching to Aurora 16 converters. The Apogees are fine, but for the same price I can have both 32in and 32out with the Auroras. I went with 32 outs because I wanted full options for analog summing. That's turned out to be totally unimpressive thus far. I do live bands in the studio from time to time and would certainly prefer more than 16 ins, but so far it's not been an isse.

How do the Toft pres sound compared to the Focusrite pre's you have?

@buccigm I guess I should try these some day. When I bought the console, I decided to go ahead and be done with this whole preamp mess. I bought an API 3124, Wunder Pa4, and Focusrite ISA428 in addition to my other goodies. Because of this and the way I designed my patchbay, I've never tried the console preamps. I'll add that to my list this week.

So far, so good. You know one HUGE result of having the console and the nice racks of "stuff" on each side. The clients LISTEN. My clout in regard to song structure, performances, etc has gone up 200%. I'll take it!
The console was a big investment. No one tells you the patchbays are going to cost 80% of what a used console does or a month to design and wire the stupid things.
Oh well. I can't imagine going back. Look for a real review soon.

Dude, you need to breath. At least a little. It's really painful to listen to.

@oliviergastonca No, scraping your peepee on a barbwire fence is PAINFUL. Listening to me is ANNOYING and maybe IRRITATING. Sorry, I'm sucker for semantics. ha ha
