  • These guys go so far with the tech to make the gun as steady as possible. Why stop with just a gun why not have a 300lb metal tube with an action on the end. Set that up and you could shoot .22 through that all day without it moving. If you want to get good with a gun why not shoot it the way a gun was meant to be shot. Not hating just making an observation.

  • @hempseed57 ... shooting (as in skills and/or equipment) comes in many flavours. Freedom of choice and an eclectic approach are, for the all industry and community, a added value and a catalyst for development. If you look around the video author's channel you'll find a broad scope of interest - from muzzle loaders, to airguns (and all in national competition)... benchrest is like a dragster race... but, in this case, the author (and many other) goes around *also* in rally, nascar, karts ;-)

  • thanks for youre answer,

ive got an last question: what kind of ammo youre using? do you use the riflematch ammo like rwsr50 of lapua midas, or do you think the results with high speed ammo like ccistingers or so is better?

my girlfriend is trying out sk rifle match while learning the right benchrest technique.

  • @kropatchekfanclub My favourite is Lapua Center-X 40 grains. Standard speed. Not only high speed are forbidden by national (Portugal) match regulations and, in fact, standard speed provide better accuracy on this set of rifle / distance / target.

  • nice gun!

my girlfriend has an mcmillan stock on her anschutz 1913supermatch. anschutz makes great .22guns!

i also have an cz 452, but the diffence in performance is big(the price was to:-) )\

we dont have benches at our range, so we try liying on the floor, just like f-class shooters.

i see youre using a bag to rest your trigger arm on. thats a good idea. going to try that.

  • @kropatchekfanclub The elbow rest, for the trigger arm, might look only as comfort item but it is intended for consistency - with a depression on it (just like on a sleeping pillow), always at the same spot, you get like a "position model" that will help to keep the same angle. Nevertheless it also ads comfort (leather or nylon are more soft and padded then the wood or concrete of the shooting table).

  • @hempseed57 Mann barrels with screw-on breech is not uncommon, but not part of benchrest shooting. The skill of benchrest is in developing the load tuned to an incredibly precise, hand-built rifle, that can shoot groups far tighter than any human could shoot off-hand. It's a thinking man's competition, not a run & gun show like IPSC.

  • @pereiramateus sorry bout that mate,,guess I better do some checking before inserting my foot in my mouth,,I forget that were not the only ones shooting in the world...and it really pisses me off to go to a shoot and hear guys complaining bout not having jobs but when you look at what there shooting and what they drive to a shoot ,,well it ain`t no wonder this country is in the shape that its in..have fun.....

  • @xpfuzz ... the scope is the most expensive piece of the kit - furthermore I'm in European Union so, all things considered, I'm helping "everybody - everywhere" ;-)

  • @pereiramateus,,, please note the rifle,,germany,,and the rest,,italy,,,lots of good rifles and rests made here in the good ole USA.....
