Zach Galifianakis signing autographs after his comedy stand-up show at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas, Texas on Friday 12/16/07. This video is short and grainy but it's the only video I've seen on YouTube of the show. The big security gaurd in this video was not allowing photo's or videos during the performance.
I went to see Zach's show in Dallas. Granted... I got there with NO ticket in-hand and prepared to pay whatever it took to get me in the door (Well... not Whatever). $75.00 bucks got me one ticket from some guys in line outside. It was FREEZING that night while waiting in line so I had to pass time by laughing at all the Zach look-A-likes in the crowd; Bushy Beards, pink visor's and corduroy sport coat's with elbow patches. Numb from the bitter cold, the line finally started moving. Once in, the show got started about 45 minutes late (but I wasn't complaining) everyone was boozing it up while they waited.
Fast-forward to the end of the show and Zach strips down to his Little Orphan Annie costume and has his big tablet of Jokes where he ripps each page off and lets the crowd read them. The last one said, "Thank You For The Standing Ovation." Once he left the stage a bunch of real fans like me asked the stage hand if we could have a souvenir from the show. I was lucky enough to get the last page from his final sketch which said "Thank You For The Standing Ovation." Anyway, some of us waited around by the stage (hoping Zach would come out to sign autographs) while everyone shuffled out the main exit doors. About 15 minutes later Zach walks out to the left side of the stage wearing a blue Lakewood Theater stocking hat and starts signing autographs. He signed my souvenir with, "Travis, No One Likes You." One girl asked him to sign his notes from the show which were on his piano that the stage hand gave her but Zach said he was sorry and he needed them back. He was cool about it though. One guy got an Altoid box off the stage from the show and Zach signed it. Zach also spent a few more minutes taking pictures with some of us fans.
Just after that, I whipped out my Motorola Q cell phone video camera and started rolling. What you see in this video is zach signing his last autograph of the night and heading back-stage.
Side-Note:
You could tell that even though Zach drinks on stage he's not drunk by the end of the show. I always wondered about that. I think the beer drinking on stage is just mostly part of his act. Or, he's just got a high tolerance.
I met some new friends (who also went to the show) at the bar which was attached to the theater and we drank until 2am/closing time. When they turned the lights on after last call we all walked outside of the bar and were chatting it up when who walks by us but, *Zach* and the Female opening act. By this point we were all drunk and probably yelling-out stupid stuff to him. I kinda kicked myself because he was drinking after the show at the bar next door to us the whole rest of the night and we didn't even know it. We missed hanging out with him.
The moral of the story is... Don't get sh*t-faced and miss an opportunity to hang out with your favorite comedian!

that's an awesome story. I can't wait til he does a show in NY, i need to see him live. He's been my favorite comedian ever since i saw his comedy central special, and that was years ago. He is the funniest man on earth.
