One of the most remarkable film in Indian cinema. A film ahead of its time in its them and the bold handling of the subject. This movie is based on the book by R.K.Narayan, India's most known author in the English language. Made in two versions (English with collaboration with Pearl S Buck and directed by Ted Danielewski), the Hindi version of movie was directed by renowned Vijay Anand, the younger brother of Dev Anand. Vijay Anand initially refused twice to direct the movie as he was not convinced with the script but Dev Anand finally convinced him to say yes on the third time and as they say, rest is the history.

  • RIP Dev Saab your contibution to Hindi movies was immense and priceless.

You were among the gems Dilip Kumar, Rak Kapoor and Guru Dutt.

You carried Hindi Cinema from Black & White Era to the 3D era.

No one forgets the masterpieces you have given to Hindi film Industry.

This man lived his life fully and so satisfied that in his 88nd birthday interview he told "If I have to tell my GOD I would ask him to born again as Dev Anand" truly he worked till his last breath and lived his life fully.
