I got an old X-Box from a buddy of mine and I decided I wanted to stream videos from my Linux Box to the X-Box (via XBMC) in the dining room. I decided that Samba was not a good option for me. I soon discovered UPnP!
uShare is a UPnP tool that makes it easy to share videos. Just remember when the 'ushare -x' command it makes a table of contents for the shared files. If you move any files around you have to relaunch it.

Brilliant, works a treat. Quick Q, does ushare start when the PC is swtiched on or do i need to start it every time I want to use it? Is there a way to have it so it starts automatically?

The title sorting is shit though and I'm still looking forward to a Linux network share/streaming app that can sort music and videos properly.

@arthursucks its not really "UPnP support" the xbox 360 does use UPnP to share but they made different than the default protocol so it would only work with WMP or the zune software.
So yes the xbox uses UPnP but no it wont work with any app that isnt made to work with it
