Red Falcon, or whatever this thing is really called, is no pushover. The first part is pretty easy if you can kill one of the snake-like arms (crush missiles are best for that). Otherwise, it's very hard to avoid their attacks. The second part is the brain. Each of the spinning balls indicates a different method of attack. There's a couple in there that you definitely do NOT want to get. The last ball I shot would have been a snake that crawls back and forth along the screen and is quite hard to avoid. Fortunately I defeated the brain first. Lastly, the brain gets back up in a suit of armor as you escape. This is really easy, but pretty tense when you have no more lives left...
Note: As you can see, one of the attacks does not kill me. By lying in that particular place, you will not be harmed. It is not an invincibility cheat as some people seem to think.

@dukepro95 It's a matter of timing your jumps over the "balls" or whatever they are. Some players will try to avoid getting that attack to begin with, but it is tricky to do so.
