This is one of those voice changer toy megaphones that you can get at Kohls or bed bath and beyond or other stores and its either red or purple and it has a forward set handle and 5 switches on it and each combo results in a different voice change. I have modified mine by adding 3 jacks on it (2 inputs and 1 output) and they are line-in normal, mic/line in voice change, and speaker out. I can hook this to my stereo or other devices I can now hook an external mic or other audio device up to this and warp and morph audio or just use it as an amplified speaker. this toy uses the LM386 Power Amp IC. im going to add an on/off switch to this then I think that's all that ill do with this thing other than maybe labeling the jacks. this runs on 1 9V battery and is fairly loud. the audio clip used in this video is a podcast about the so called "secret tracer chemical" that's rumored to be in swimming pools but there is no such chemical. the podcast is here on this page: http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2006/11/23/1795301.htm its in the small box on the side that says audio, right click and save as to download it. the other songs in this video are heavily altered by the megaphone to avoid the copyright BS of youtube. well I hope you like my hacked megaphone b/c its even more useful now thanks to this hack. Thanks the other ppl out there that have hacked up these toys and inspired me to do this hack. so thanks for watching and please leave a text comment if you wish, rate, and please subscribe if you havent already and if you are subbed to me thanks.

@archie977
if you look around at stores that sell toys and stuff you are bound to find something that changes your voice that you can tinker with.

i had the same idea, I just thought of it yesterday and found this,
I'm going to be putting female audio inputs/outputs in the body and I'm going to rig it up so that instead of playing through the speaker, I can hook it up to my phone as a mic and make phone calls.
It's going to be sick, I'll make a video when my megaphone arrives.

Cool can't wait to see what you did to yours. TheGeekGroup's Chris Bogan did a video on this megaphone they did an autopsy on one like mine. maybe i'll post this vid as a response to his.

@coondogtheman1234 I ordered mine from Amazon for 16 dollars. I'm hoping I'll get it on Saturday, but I'll make a video as soon as it arrives and I hack it.
It shouldn't be too hard, I'm always messing with electronics and I've programed many Picace 8M chips for modded xbox controllers.

if it's the same one as mine then you paid too much. I bought mine at bed bath and beyond for under 10 bucks.

I love tinkering with electronics too as you can probably tell by some of my videos. it's just so much fin getting inside and seeing how they work and making them do other things.
