Pickups #49: Games, peripherals and 'Mo' update. 09.11.11

A nice mix of purchases across a variety of formats and one very special, slightly pointless peripheral.
There's also an update on my 'mo' rescue operation, I had to scrap version 1.0 and use Magnum PI as a template. I have noticed that my 'mo' naturally turns up at the ends giving it an 'evil' look, an evil mo....

Amazon Marketplace has always been a winner for me. Every item I've bought so far has been in immaculate condition. All the GBA games I've bought have turned up fully boxed and complete! A lot of the prices are much cheaper than ebay as well.

I want that Wii shotgun! I've been looking out for a good deal on one of those for a while. I'm going to ask my local store if they have any stashed through the back.

@RetroGameTech Cheers mate, I'm glad you liked it.

I think it was the lack of pictures that has always put me off, and the descriptions aren't always detailed enough to compensate, it needed a greater leap of faith but others who've used it have done well so I thought 'why the hell not!' And, as you say, they often beat ebay on price.

I've noticed that the shotgun is difficult to search for on ebay, searches usually turn up nothing, unless I've just always been looking in the wrong place....

@StarsAreDead1009 Somebody who works for Cash Generator can't add up methinks! Why pay way over the odds when 2nd class post would've suited me fine! At least it makes a change from the scumbag ebay sellers cutting corners and skimming a bit of extra profit from their p+p takings!

I've not tried the gun yet but I hope you don't have to use the pump action every time you need to reload. You shake the wiimote to reload in HotD Overkill so that's going to be a bitch as well.

That is a weird coincidence, I was trying to remember the name of a game my mate mentioned years ago, and the you then picked it up in this video, it's dot hack. It just seemed like a cool idea where you play people who are playing a game, and they have email accounts and so on? Is that right, I think I'm thinking of the right game? Anyway, another great pickups video, and glad you've joined the Skype gang, it happens to us all at some point! ;-)

I have to hold my hands up and say that it's still in my 'to play' pile, it sounds about right though. I know it's an offline RPG created to be like an MMO, I like how they're trying something a bit different. People who've played it say that it takes a lot of grinding but that's right up my street.

Yep, I'm now fully Skyped up, and my computer's running smoothly again so I'm good to go... when I get a mic or dig out the '360 headset.

@adfot1 The Mo is looking a bit too sparse for my liking, I was hoping I'd have a Merv Hughes by now. I'll put that down to the false start.

Yep, I'm getting a taste for this Star Wars thing I keep hearing about. I saw an original diorama a while back that got me excited, then I realised that it's a bit of cardboard for your figures to stand in front of.

I think the shotgun is going to be style over substance but at least I'll look the business, that's the main thing.

@SeanSidious It was pretty slow in general but it seems to have been corrected since the latest Firefox update, it's running nice and smoothly now. No idea what that was about but it was really getting on my tits!

Yep, I thought I can put up with looking like my dad if it's for a good cause, as long as I only go outside for a run I'll be okay.

Cheers, yeah I'm chuffed with X-Men, and if it is a bit of a turkey it only cost me 99p so I can't really complain.

@shockz16 Cheers dude. I couldn't say who that was at the end though I have seen some shady characters hanging around recently, maybe one of them snuck in and wanted a slice of the YT cake!

Dynasty Warriors isn't too bad as it goes, like a slightly more tactical Soul Blade, it is showing it's age though. No probs about Children of the Atom,I'll do a gameplay vid when I've had me plenty of practice.

The shotgun's for the Wii, wiimote goes in the top and there's an integrated nunchuck on the back

@LeBossu77 Too true lol just annoys the hell outta me that people are so lazy at paying within the 1st 24hrs. Dude if you wanna play a good FPS on Wii grab a copy of Goldeneye it's brilliant and super cheap now as well :)
