Excellent, what a pity it's not complete; can we have the rest please? It's very"steady," almost ponderous at some points, but we hear all the details of harmony and instrumental lines so well, and the playing is wonderful. After searching for info,it would seem to be either Munich Phil/Kempe,or Bamberg/Leitner,in any case fine orchestral interpretations to match.I remember her RachPreludes on DG,but this is a stunning find!

Yes! Excellent!

Wonderful indeed, I wish she had played the whole work - that fantastic 1st mvt cadenza and that gorgeous Romanza! She is a bit slower on the average than the very exciting Demidenko, but that does not rob her playing of energy, strength and vitality, and it is fine to hear exactly what's going on! The 3 Medtner concertos are so different from each other, yet so masterly and characteristic of their composer, great to hear them played again!

great piano concerto, really "Rachmaninovian" ascendance

An inspiring performance... She plays this with such an intelligent facility... Pretty incredible considering it's overall difficulty... Yara really understood Medter's musical intentions... So many pianists play this with an ugly hardness. Wish there was a way to get a clearer version of this same recording! By far my favorite thus far...
