I've actually read that cholesterol is protective against cancer; that a prime risk factor for cancer is low cholesterol levels in the blood stream. The upshot of this is that statins may increase the risk of developing cancer as an unintended side-effect.

Hello Dr Lundell. I read your March 1st post on Prevent Disease. Well, to make a long story short, I'm very happy to find somebody else that gets it like I do. You literally used every argument I use, but you used them all in the same post. I understand that it's very hard to do what you did. I suggest you get in touch with Gary Taubes. He's sort of the current expert on the subject of diet and disease, and probably like you he's facing tons of opposition.
