@smalltownapathy He's asking when this video you've uploaded was shot, not when the letters were written. That's why he says "is this" (in reference to the video), rather then "were these" (in reference to the letters).

When trying to condescend to someone, it's best to first make sure you understand the intent of their statement.

I know and can empathize with the fact that you want to display the same acerbic wit as did Dr. Thompson, but it's important to remember that he was very intelligent
