Len Saputo, MD, a 1965 graduate of Duke University Medical School, is board certified in internal medicine and was in private practice in affiliation with John Muir Medical Center in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 30 years. Dr. Saputo is the coauthor of Boosting Immunity: Creating Wellness Naturally (New World Library, 2002); has edited six books, including Beating the Years and Boosting Your Digestive Health; and has authored book chapters on numerous medical and health subjects.

Im 31, was diagnosed with a hiatel hernia when I was 18. I had sever acid reflux and my first stomach ulcer at the age of 19. I tried everything, until the purple pill Nexium. And Nexium works. I read a comment by someone saying they drink a glass of water and their fine. Remember, everybody is different. Nexium is the only thing that seriously saved my life. You dont understand the constant pain and having to turn on a certain side to sleep, so the acid dosnt come up thru your esophagus.

try vinegar....shuts down the acid pumps in your tummy, tastes like crap but is very effective and CHEAP!!! but only after you eat...you need acid to digest your food...so try arranging a diet that does not include the foods that cause distress, I'm sure every one that has acid reflux know what foods trigger the reflux, avoid those foods, but if you just have a sensitive digestive proccess and still get it if you eat some yogurt, try the vinegar, some will call bullsh!t, I say try it, belive it.
