  • I hope they've made clear this is a Jorge Ben ripoff?

  • @ync112307 Hmm... well, you're right about that ... party songs are maybe just the ones that go mainstream.

"Meet me half way" is the only meaningful song today that got mainstream after "where is the love"

And i haven't beet to any of their concerts and i haven't listened to any of their new 'not mainstream' songs so you could be right ...

So i think that they are partly sellouts and partly still good same old BEP

    Peace!

  • @ync112307 yeh ive got one song under that name, did they make an album on that name?

  • @APokeInTheEye i like the your argument. But not gonna change my mind. lol They are still original. WIL I AM is a great producer.

  • @ORIGINALGANGST4 u can earn more....ATBAN KLAN....its their first band name then later were the Black Eyed Pods...then Peas. ATBAN KLAN music is bad ass. Bet he never heard of that side of the peas.

  • @APokeInTheEye u speak like all of their music is party music with meaningless lyrics. u do realize they have more music out there. yes they have become mainstream, but it doesnt change who they are. been to a recent concert? all muscians have mainstream hits. look at eminem. hardcore to the soul, yet he has plenty of popular mainstream hits. Is he a sell out? far from it. so why should it be different for BEP. They have been famous. Its just out in the open now. Is not like they had no fame.

  • @ync112307 C'mon, can't you see that the change they've gone thru is just the change into another mainstream dumbed-down corporate sellout group of people ...

I mean ... it's okay to change your style ... but why make your lyrics meaningless all of a sudden? Because then you can go MAINSTREAM! Isn't it obvious? Money and fame got to them (probably something better)

You think it's just a coincidence that they got so famous right after they "changed their style"? Really ... ? ;D

  • Copying deadmau5??? really.....BEP have been aroubd since about 1988...atban klann look it up. Deamau5 start making music about 95 or 97....officially since 3years ago. And if they do copy anyone, its a time were everyone samples everybodies music if not they colabo. Look at usher, r&b artist and is crossing over to dance like everyone, he even has a song with a spanish singer singing something way off the radar unless u r spanish. REMEBER, REAL MUSICIANS EVOLVE AND EXPLORE.

  • @APokeInTheEye oh i know the concept of selling out. but thruth of the matter.....EVERY ARTIST/ REAL MUSICIAN, changes their music. ALL GREAT BANDS, ARTISTS GO THRU IT. Metallica for one is not the same band, are they sellouts? Red hot chilli peppers same thing. Led Zepplin in their day were diversified in their music, yet they are still a rock and roll bad ass band. U say they (BEP) r being influenced by "corporate elitist"...look at Will I AM he is not one to be molded by corporate elitists.

  • I wish BEP would go back to their old sound. They're a completely different genre now. Even though they were going to be dropped by their record company, they should've just been in it for the music. They traded being true to themselves for money and fame. If they would just have gone as far as Elephunk with their genre, I would stay with them. Listen to Karma, then Dirty Bit. They've gone so far to being original to copying other artists (deadmau5, I mean). I even liked Hey Mama. Too far.
