  • Have you considered the light in this video???

  • @3711home -yes...horrible light, I know....but I had to get the video done quickly. There was so much snow on the ground nobody could get to the college where I teach, and I was doing an 'impromptu' online class...and fast.

Someday I will make another with appropriate light!

  • I love color charts. Like, I like how they look. I don't use a color chart when I am working though. I am just not a fan of being confined; which is how I feel about color charts. You know?

  • Oh yes! Painting via intuition is the grandest thing! I have found that color charts are helpul for people involved in design ... I myself, have never used one- though perhaps I may in the future as a way to approach my work from a different perspective!

  • you are right Angela..the lighting was awful!

Do not add white or black

Create the colors you are going to use, then stick to those 3 only.

Acrylic will work the same way, only do not use water except to clean brush & to thin paint a bit (on your palatte) as it dries.

If you are working with secondary colors: you will need to mix to create these to create the exact color you want. The thing is to only create 3 colors on your palatte and only use those 3.

  • i loved the painting, the colors of your piece was so visual and vibrant. According to the video ,i must buy a thin paint brush, getting thin areas on painting i complete.

  • Loved the video, very informative. Glad to have you as a professor, while some people can only refer to you on youtube.

  • The Colors used I the painting are very soft and neatly done. The shadowing and value makes the edges stand out. The color wheel makes matching the colors easier to match and are the right colors. The flowers look like a real painting.

  • Thank you for introducing me to your youtube channel. I love learning about the color wheel. It has helped me a lot with learning more about the colors. Im still practicing getting the colors just right.
