All the energy comes from 3 RC car shock springs (specifically stock T-Maxx springs, just what I had laying around). The "booster" is a single spring, when it is released (by a trigger wire that is pulled, think trip wire) it forces the upper section up into the air, a wire fixed to the lower section pulls the trigger pins of the upper section and fires the two secondary springs that launch projectiles out to the sides. Changing the length of the trigger wire changes how high in the air the upper section fires at. Originally I had it triggering at around 3-4 feet off the ground but for the video I made it shorter so that the camera could more easily catch all the action. 300fps obviously isn't fast enough for this though..

The two white things are 3/8" steel plates that were only used to help hold everything down.
