Baling Hay

This is a video of me baling hay in South Dakota with a 1980 Ford TW-10 tractor and a 2004 New Holland BR780 round baler. I thought it might be sort of interesting for those who have never been on the farm or did anything like this. Sorry if the video is a little shaky. It was hard to hold the camera and still operate the equipment.

Is it still called a "bale" of hay if it is round? Is baling normally a one-man job? I don't see any houses around; are you in communication with the farm if the tractor breaks down? Or is it a long walk home? I don't see any trees. How far is it to the nearest woods/forest?

@geyser Yeah it is all pretty much a one man job anymore. The place is about a mile away from where I was at so if I really needed to I could have walked home, but unless it was the tractor that quit (quite unlikely) then I would just drive it home. There are not a lot of trees in Western South Dakota.

awesome i never did this but i use tractors with diesel engines buckets and brushhogs

Nice tractor, I had a 7710 of the same vintage. I had over 25000 hrs with no major problems. Cab is in perfect shape.
