The Belkin bluetooth receiver works like s charm, however the range is like 2 meters. If I want 2 meters reach, I can use a cable!
So I thought by adding a proper antenna the range should increase.
Yes, it did. Now the range is more than 6 meters, not bad for half an hour of work.

  • Can u DIY its battery with a 18650 cell please !

  • @hellwalker81 ,

I don't see the added value of adding a battery to this since it still needs to be connected to a stereo amplifier, so a power socket is in range (for me).

    Roger

  • so if its a wifi antenna this will work? im just worried i wont have the right frequency antenna.

  • @urmommawasfun Actually I used a wi-fi antenna myself (on the pictures). The carrier frequency of both wi-fi and bluetooth are in the same range (2.4 GHz), therefore the antenna's are interchangeable. Good luck

  • I don't understand. Can you make a clearer instruction?? thanks! where can i buy the antenna?

  • @LookMaNoBrains This is a DIY instruction, I'm assuming you're familiar with a soldering iron. After opening the case you can locate the internal smd antenna, just remove it and replace it with an external antenna. I've got my external antenna from an old wifi router, as long as the transmitter carrier frequency is comparable, you're ok. So a bluetooth antenna and wifi antenna will both do the job for you.

  • I like this mod better than just removing the piece of metal inside.

  • @alasrati no, if u replace the SMD antenna with a omni directional stick antenna the metal weight doesn't interfere anymore. the problem is only with the patch type stock antenna because it is so close to the weight.

  • Has anyone tried this with the yagi? The performance was better with the weight out rather than a 2.4ghz 7dbi omi-directional antenna. I have a 12 dbi antenna on the way to try out yet.

  • Hey buddy, instead of this nonsense just remove the stupid metal weight = range doubled.

Could probably get insane range by doing both mind.

  • Perfekt! Now its working at least 10m away. Easy to do, if you have done some soldering before.

  • I like to use a big ass yagi.

  • can you upload a video where the Belkin bluetooth is working after the operation. thanx

  • trying to do this but dont know where to attach the antenna exactly can someone direct me to a picture or something cause i dont know :(
