Lappeenranta has hosted the annual EU-Russia Innovation Forum on May 2010 and 2011. Lappeenranta will host the EBN Congress 2012 combined with the 3rd EU-Russia Innovation Forum.
The second most visited city by foreign tourists, located by Lake Saimaa 220 km from both St. Petersburg and Helsinki, Lappeenranta is the most important meeting point between the EU and Russia. The research capital of the European forestry industry and a visionary in distributed and renewable energy solutions, Lappeenranta is a center of expertise, established networks and innovative business support services. Lappeenranta is the perfect location for business or engineering studies at the Lappeenranta International University (LUT) or at the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences.
