Mormonism is the eternal presence of an absence. An absence of evidence and absence of reformed Egyptian, Roman Breastplates, gold books, etc. And when there is evidence, like with the absurd book of Abraham, it's denied. We are confronted with Real Egyptian and not a glyph is correct. The Mormons deny their own evidence and say the Book of Abraham is still missing when it's in their lap! They deny because the truth is obvious and must be denied to preserve a lie.

Done that already, "39ish"!! And all I've gotten is a bunch if sidestepping and conjecture. When I challenged the LDS Missionaries, Priests, & Bishops the contradictions that encumber LDS and BoM, what I got is "testimony" When I challenge LDS "truths" with objective analysis and critical scrutiny, what I got was lectures about accepting BoM on "faith". No answers, though!!
Mormons promote THEY should be the only source for information concerning their church. Would their version be fair and balanced or biased in favor of their church?
"I thought the seer-stone treasure- hunting business went by the wayside along with the debunked "Salamander letter". "
You would be wrong. See State of New York vs Joseph Smith, Jr., March 20, 1826.
BTW, the Salamander Letter was debunked by a critic of the LDS church. LDS Church leaders were totally duped by Hofmann .
@hammer7629 Your logic seems to be that if someone's beliefs are viewed as unsavory, then a member of the given movement has no credibility in understanding or describing the movement. That doesn't hold up to common sense.
I'm no Mormon, but, regarding innacuracies, I thought the seer-stone treasure- hunting business went by the wayside along with the debunked "Salamander letter".

"Cling" is the correct word to use.
Mormon folklore is basically all they have since they have been denied the truth and freedom of the Gospel for most of their lives.
Don't ridicule them, pray for them.
The truth is getting to many Mormons and many are hearing it.
This is a battle that the Holy Spirit will have to win.
Our only God Ordained contributions are Prayer and Truth.
Calling Mormons names and ridiculing them hinders the work of God.
Pray for them instead.

After spending a few months getting to know Mormons I have found that the farther away from Utah you get the more they seem like Baptists.
I have had several Mormons tell me that they are "Members" of the LDS but only in a 'Nominal' way.
(Inactive, but still carried on the roles).
This is largely due to Family issues (the fear of humiliation and separation from Family).
I got this from enough people (LDS) to call it a fair sampling.
Pray for them, don't add to their troubles.
