The Transportation Cabinet's finest highway equipment operators recently gathered in Anderson County for the annual Equipment Operators' Safety & Training Conference. This year marks the sixth anniversary of the event, which promotes equipment operator skill development and safety awareness, fosters information sharing, and strengthens teamwork. The safety and training conference also showcases highway crew members' operating a variety of vehicles. While fun and friendly competition takes place, the conference promotes the safe and efficient operation of Cabinet equipment in the organization's ongoing road construction and maintenance duties. The most proficient operators for each piece of equipment will have the opportunity to participate in an upcoming Southeast Regional Equipment Operators' Safety and Training Conference. Another upcoming event is our Adopt-a-Highway Program's Fall Sweep, which will take place September 18-24. More on that in next week's segment.
