it's about a bug that bothered her and made her squirm in bed... you are correct that this song is highly unlikely to be about the bug ... :-)... it could mean about someone who climbed into her bed when she was fast "asleep"...

I think you're right. The song is about a bug, but the "bug" is a metaphor for a person's curious fingers. It suggests something more sexual without stating it explicitly.
