Its so calm, and it flows..It put me to sleep once, hahaha, and its not a joke!

I hope you enjoy it and...don't fall asleep!

  • Dark Raimundo, that's a beautiful painting right in the beginning. Do you know who painted it?

  • @camparianbliss Sorry, but I don't have the answer to your question.

  • This is gorgeous music, and my favourite piece by Finland's flagship composer Sibelius.

Sibelius is a fascinating person. He gave up composing music because he thought he'd already said everything he needed to, and he then lived another 30 years, until he was 92! Now THERE is a fulfilled man.

The world is a better place for composers like this - it makes me feel again that humans are worth saving - after the daily news which bombards me with evidence that we are worthless.

  • I agree with you. Sibelius' music can help you achieve a piece of mind in a world full of chaos.

Yes, Sibelius was an amazing man. He reached the age of 92 dispite being a smoker, drinker and had cancer of the throat.

  • Beautiful peaceful atmosphere.....

The English horn over the violins is excellent.

I can imagine that it brings so much peace that you can be taken completely in it, and that you dream away ....

When you listen to it when you are not tired you can enter the Higher Worlds of the soul. A kind of a trance. That is being aware of much much more, as if you dream but while you are awake.

That feels like an intense light, peace, unearthly peace... and love.

  • @allmusicfoodoflove Well said! Indeed, music is known to affect the flow of energy in our surroundings, people should listen to music like this instead of crap that does nothing but pollute our environment.

  • @camparianbliss It was mentioned in another Youtube video of The Swan of Tuonela: Picture is "The Swan of Tuonela", c. 1945, by Gabriel de Jongh.

  • @ahabah72 also try the Nigel Kennedy recording...that's my favorite version

  • The first time i read 'Lord Of The Rings' i would put this piece on before and after each session. It always seemed completely apropriate.

  • @dalecampbl7 Love his violin concerto! Could listen to it every day ... specially when Gil Shaham plays it (that's why I have it as a play-list).

  • Finnish mythology is just pure EPIC in both literal and figurative sense!

  • that sounds like a cor anglais to me...am I right? so so so very beautiful! I adore this piece and my grandfather loved Jean Sebelius......there is the bit that is the tune to the song "Be Still my soul"...so so so beautiful.

  • Is this directed by Ormandy?

  • TOUT EST PARFAIT.
