@Nacso69 by that logic every band is a cover of another band... no one is 100% original. akerfeldt is inspired by bands such as mahavishnu orchestra and other 70's prog bands, along with some metal bands... but no where did he steal the sound from anyone... he took his inspirations and turned it into a unique sound, like i good musician should.

Excellent.

@Anonyomus Thats right. I think it's lame that people think that music is ruined, when the band gets a bit of fame. :> It's true that nothing lasts forever though.

@undeathguppie All music is art. If you're saying that commercial music etc. isn't art is the same as you say that Salvador Dalí wasn't a real artist, because he was a commercial icon. With fame, advertisement and entertaiment artists get their bread on the table. So does Shining as well.
Dimmu Borgir is a group of genious musicians. They really know, what they're doing. Their quality has dropped during the years, but they made at least 5-6 masterpiece albums. And that's a great achievement.

nope not all music
commercialised music is not art, that is just made to become rich. dimmu borgir, perfect example.
only the music which gives you an magic feeling is art.

Is it just me or is that riff very Opeth-ish? In a good way.
