Sample chapter from the Solar Training Online course, offered by Solar Living Institute. This short clip explains how a PhotoVoltaic system tied into the grid works -- and how it makes good economic and energy sense.
one thing you don't see much of on these you tube videos is using higher ( several hundred volts DC) instead of all this 12 volt crap. most large systems produce 300 to 500 volts DC fed into an inverter then tied into your home, or business electrical system. this is much more efficient, but requires a good working knowledge of electrical systems and some electronics background as well. these higher voltages are "LETHAL" , but for a practical system, you need higher primary voltages.
Save yourself $600 and just buy a book on Solar and watch videos on YouTube. You will learn the basics but good luck if you have any questions. Support is a JOKE! It took me almost a month to get some questions answered. The videos are amateurish at best. I could see maybe $99 for this course but $600, NO WAY! When I asked for a partial refund because of the problems I encountered, they said no.
