Another place we managed to see on my first day in Ireland. Monasterboice in County Louth. There's a round tower and many old graves, but the most interesting thing to see there is Muiredach's Cross, which is supposed to be the most beautiful high cross in the entire country. You can see it in the video, about one third into it ... it's by a cypress and has the tower in the background. You hear me saying 'wow' as I look up at it about halfway through the video. :-)

  • Beautiful Celtic crosses. Old St.Patrick really had his work cut out for him when he came to this island. As did the Vikings who fought some ferocious battles with the Irish to capture Dublin on more than one occasion. I believe it was King Olaf who described the Irish as tenacious warriors.
