it all makes sense to me. but this by FAR is the best movie ending, bar none.

He blows himself up because his mom commited suicide by walking into a building that his dad blew up. He was a disturbed soul. When veronica uncovered his plan to kill everyone in the school, he told her he would "clean the slate" by killing himself instead... if that makes any sense to you?

Still one of my all time favorite endings to a film as well as one of my all time favorite films period, with one of my all time favorite actors, Christian Slater...This dude was like my James Dean as a kid....Very meaningful movie...Society is just a mask, behind it we're all still human beings
