Corruption and unimginable poverty are rampant. Illiteracy is common. Musharraf is a dictator. Many of the religious fanatics who oppose Musharraf are less corrupt but they will spell disaster for Pakistan. 46% of Pakistanis approve of Bin Laden. It is a backwards nation filled to the brim with religious extremists- and it has nuclear weapons. The west can support a dictator or a democracy which will result in religious lunatics coming to power and starting a nuclear war.
