We had to get a glimpse at the GMs new Chevy Volt, the electric car that can create its own electricity. Plug the Volt in, let it charge overnight, and its said to run on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles. The Volt also features an OnStar mobile app that lets you use a smartphone to access the vehicles current electric range, fuel efficiency and also manage the charging functions.

infin1ty yes,the Chevy Volt is always powered off the Batteries,when the charge gets low the small gas motor recharges on the fly so you have a driving range I suppose of 500 plus miles, if driven less than 40 miles you'd never use gas just plug it in to charge
