Taylor Swift's Film Debut: How'd she do?

Taylor Swift has officially made her feature film debut and the reviews on her acting chops are sweeping in. We've got the story.

Hey everyone, you're watching ClevverTV. I'm Joslyn Davis in Beverly Hills with all the scoop on reactions to Swifty's performance in "Valentine's Day."

Reviews on the singer's new acting gig are coming in and some of them aren't so great. Of course there are so many big-name actors in the movie, that's it really impossible to make any real judgement on her acting, but either way, the critics are out and in full effect.

According to a writer at Variety, "Swift, especially, seems undirected, as she jumps around, makes faces and jabbers so inanely. If she's to have a film career, she needs to find a skilled director to tamp her down and channel her obviously abundant energy." Wow-so that was a bit of a slam on Swift and the director in this case.

Truth be told though, the entire cast is getting criticized, but either way, does it really matter? Let's get serious. The real reason that most fans are going out to see this film has nothing to do with whether or not Taylor Swift is going to get an Oscar nod. What viewers are really interested in seeing is the romantic action between Swifty and Taylor Lautner. Am I right on this one?

Also, keep in mind that this is Swift's first big movie. That said, we're guessing she did a pretty good job. Plus, we think she did an amazing job when she hosted SNL a while back, so she's clearly got some talent in the acting category...But what do you guys think? her only job was to play a teenager... and being very close in age to a normal teenager i think she over acted. it should have been way more natural. cheerleaders do not act like that in california... but its not like shes not talented at all... she just needs to stick to her music.. film isnt her thing.

Okay wait a minute...her Character was jumpy and wild as well as energetic! So if that's what the critiques are saying then she did a good job! I agree with you that a lot of viewers are crazy into the relationship between T&T. But fans like me and more interested in her actual acting! Do you remember her on CSI?? Now that was some amazing acting, am i right? I loved the movie and I though she&everyone did amazing!

btw i disagree that ppl saw this just to see any "chemistry" between the two Taylors...have you seen a still from the scenes where they were kissing? Lautner looks relaxed..but, as expected, Swift looks awkward....she is probably one of the most awkward people i've ever seen, though. she's always hunched over and entirely dorky

1:33 ..can you say ugly?? this is one of MANY pictures to prove that she looks so mousey and realllllllly needs to EASE UP on the eye liner. I agree with everyone else though, her character was supposed to be stupid and annoying, which she can easily play because she's pretty annoying and stupid in the sense that all she ever talks about and sings about are boys. Still, it's hard to tell if she can act based off this film.

it was hilarious. She was supposed to act like a bimbo, that was the whole point of her character.
