Part 3 in my occasional series, Selling Art on Ebay. In this episode I look at the pros and cons of creating art that matches popular themes or keywords that sell on ebay.

Please note I am not an art dealer nor am I an ebay expert. This series is based entirely on my own experiences of selling my own art on ebay.

  • I keep expecting you to nod off! hahah

  • @blootrax - Actually I did fall asleep... about half way through reading your first comment. Tiresome.

  • I'm so sick of these guys razzin you on the tempo of your speech but looking at your come back quips you don't seem to have a problem handling them. Thank-you so much for posting. Can you reccommend any sites where an unknown but talented artist can make a modest living? I want to sell my sculptures. I've been thinking about flea markets....

  • Hi, sorry it's taken longer than expected to get back to you. If your sculptures are easily sent through the mail or via courier then opening an etsy(.)com shop might be for you. etsy is the number one site, recommended by artists (often ahead of ebay) for selling hand made items online. If you think flea markets may be the way to go then look for dedicated art and craft markets rather than general flea markets as you'll be able to price higher and you'll be selling to people looking for art.

  • hey TET these videos have really helped me i have researched the market on ebay for my particular style of work i have gone for space painting as my work by far is better then the person who also sells on there and i can do them cheaper as i pay £1 for my paint. my first listing is going up tonight so i have my fingers crossed thank you

  • Best of luck with your sales. I really hope your research pays off. If perchance it doesn't go as well as you've hoped to begin with just keep in mind it takes a while to build up your reputation and trust with your market. Perseverance. Don't forget to advertise your auctions too :-)

  • It's true. I HATE impatient people & people who don't have enough respect to LISTEN & honor the fact that not everyone speaks the same way or same speed. Speaking a little slower is better than speaking super fast with a bunch of idiotic filler words like, umm, uhhh, ya, like, annnnnd, buuuut, et cetera. My mother was 80% deaf and her worst pain came from disrespectful ppl who refused to slow down and enunciate. Society is too disrespectful these days & doesn't realize they lose out b/c of

  • Dude? Where you stoned when you recorded this?
