Changing the oil on a 2007 Honda Civic Si can seem like a tough thing to do, but it really isn't! This video will show you how to do it, step by step.

  • Uh, that is not how you boost a car up.

That is a strange location for a filter on a Honda. FYI, you did not check for a double-gasket.

  • @jobejahova Its perfectly fine to jack up a car from the cross-member. Civic Si doesn't have a double gasket. there is no need to check.

  • I had my engine block replaced (with a new one) now its time to change the oil.

what oil should I use ?

car has 115 K miles, new engine block has 3k (already told you that).

    thank you.

  • @8Jallin Use the oil that is recommended in the owners manual. I'd use synthetic as well.

  • also you should remember to put a little bit of oil on the plastic part of the oil filter...also what i do is fill the oil filter to the top and then put it in...but it gets hard to put the filter in without having any oil spill out

  • @xizzlex I accidently down-voted this, I wanted to up-vote it.

  • Ah yes, the reason for the weird placement of the oil filter is because the Civic SI engine is a "shared" engine, Your engine is a K20Z3 with the K series ranging from Acura TSX and RSX to even Honda's CR-V (all with small changes/tuning to work well with the car)

Everyone with a DX/LX/EX 8th generation Civic will have a R series engine (R18A1) designed for the mass market Civic's, you will have a much easier time finding the filter, the filter is at the bottom right next to the oil pan.

  • Can you do a video on changing Spark Plugs for this car.. I have an '05 Civic si (Ep3). Thanks and great video!

  • Can you tell your friend with the Civic Si to do more DIY's on his car?

  • Honda, I Love You... But You Suck

  • Why would we get mad at u for using a 4-way, I am mad you didnt use it right?

  • Jaja , lol when talk chip and dale !!!

  • @evsidewinder2 It's the same procedure for every engine you will ever do an oil change on, so long as it uses a spin on oil filter and not a cartridge. What differs is the location of the drain plug, location of the oil filter, and amount of oil. It all boils down to a few simple steps - drain the oil, replace the filter, reinstall the drain plug, add oil, replace the oil cap, start, and check.

  • @xizzlex Yeah, the oil on the gasket of the oil filter prevents the heat of the engine from getting the gasket stuck on. Makes it easier to do the oil change next time. And you can fill the oil filter if you want, it makes the oil pressure go up faster when you finally start the vehicle. But if you have a side mounted oil filter, or if it's too much of a hassle, then you don't need to, you can just run the engine for a minute once it's on and it'll fill right up.
