Engine Blow up at school

This is what happens when you don't tighten the cam shaft bolts to specs. We took the engine apart and all of the valves needed to be replaced because they were bent. The top of the pistons all had the indentation from the exhaust and intake valves.

Couldn't understand your 'camshaft bolts' comments at all until I watched the vid. You mean cam pulley bolts.

Sucks, we've all done it, but luckily I've always noticed before revving the nuts off the motor.

When teaching students mechanic courses the first thing you learn is SAFETY!! At least when I did my courses that's the way it's done. The exhaust should always be connected to a duct pipe that runs from the exhaust pipe to the outdoors even if you will be running the engine for a short period.
