  • In short - Opera made all important features, without you wouldn't imagine browsing online anymore. Other browsers just had to copy these features not to fall out of competition.

  • Opera is great at zooming - it is first browser that had real zooming - firefox zoomed just text (increased font size) at that time...

  • the fastest browser and very simpel and the best, use opera! I hated it before, when opera version 10.60 came, I really love it :-P with turbo and everything

  • i just care about the future of this software , cus acually the opera browser had very stupid markitin plan , and had no enough ads and comercials , and still my 1st chois above all browsers

  • @demon87forreal yea but you can use pasword protected, and would be hard for someone to get in to your computer.

  • Opera has always been cutting edge, i remember when i first downloaded Opera 6 years ago, it had the Speed Dial. I've tried a LOT of browsers and never saw a Speed Dial on any of them....Netscape was my 2nd favorite browser until they said they stopped supporting the browser (AKA Netscape retired)

They might have been second with the Tabbed Browsing, 9 years ago i stumbled upon NeoPlanet Browser which had tabbed browsing.

Anyway, Opera is amazing, i wont use another browser. :)

  • lol no probs, just expressing opinions, its different them mail system, where they scan messages for viruses 'coz they keep them on servers etc, here, its not really needed and will complicate implementation and slow it down, as i udnerstand you transfer files from your computer to other person computer, for opera unite to check them for viruses they will need to break this chain and use their resources to scan those files during transfer in real time, think about this

  • Actually, they SHOULD..

I'm not saying they must, but it's something they should do. Why would it matter if they stored them on their server? In that case they shouldn't, because they are not illiterate when it comes to malware. But, oh well, it's not like I care that much about it.

  • as they do not store those files onto their server they SHOULD NOT care

    -- typo --

  • its like company producing recordable DVDs should control what they are being used to, because they provide you with a tool that can be used to distribute harmful programs into other person comptuer, no its not right, as long as they do not store those files onto their server they should care what files i'm sending and to who they are addressed.

instead they CAN educate ppl if they want by promoting antivirus software if they like to

  • They should care because they are providing you with a way of dropping malicious files onto user hard disks. It's not the smart people that get infected, it's the dumb people. You wouldn't believe how many people aren't using any antivirus software at all. But as I said, there's ways of making a virus undetectable, so even if you do run antivirus software, you can still get infected.

  • well anti virus should be installed on client side imo, its client responsibility to pretect himself, i dont know any1 from my friend whos not using resident antivirus scanner at all, files are stored and transfered client - client not stored on opera server so why should they care, if i'm right
