1994 Hockey trivia. the rangers got tired of being the laughing stock of the league so they got Chicago's Mike Keenen and 7 players from his 1992 Stanley Cup final team to join the other half of the team. the other half consists of 7 players aquired from the 5 time Stanley Cup champion Edmonton Oilers. that's how the cup was won in N.Y. in 1994 folks! talk about winning it through your system!

  • Also, the Rangers first three cups didn't come in a 6 team pick up league. There were nearly 20 teams at the time including all of the original 6 teams.

As for your precious Devils. They seem to be doing well now. Overpaying aging players, under achieving so called "super stars". No cap room to sign your best players. Not even enough money to form 4 lines with NHL players. So much mismanagement you sound like the Rangers!

  • @JamesKlemm87 - YOU TOTAL FUCKING RETARD! There were just 6 to 8 total teams in the league from 1926 till 1967! - I didn't look it up but you are obviously just a kid.

  • @JamesKlemm87 - YOU TOTAL FUCKING RETARD! There were just 6 to 8 total teams in the league from 1926 till 1967! - I didn't look it up but you are obviously just a kid. the original 6 started in 1942 and ended in 1967 as the expansion era started. i'll say no more except READ A BOOK!

  • @ghytgb -

Hm, seems that there were 10 teams in 1928, the second year the Rangers even existed, a record no team has ever or will ever break, 9 teams in 1933, and 7 teams in 1940. So only one year when the Rangers won the cup were there actually 6 to 8 teams. So I'm retarded huh? I'm going with you're another lonely troll.

BTW, how the Devils doing? Parise on a 1 year contract? Wow, someone wants off that sinking ship.

  • @JamesKlemm87 -- WOW! 10 TEAMS COMPARED TO 30! GUESS WHAT! THE N.Y. LOSERS NEVER WON A SINGLE CUP DURING THE ORIGINAL 6 ERA WHILE COMPETING AGAINST JUST 5 OTHER TEAMS! WHAT A JOKE! THE DEVILS ARE DOING GREAT! JUST LOOK UP AT THE GARDEN RAFTERS AND THEN LOOK UP TO THE RAFTERS AT THE ROCK AND YOU'LL SEE FOR YOURSELF! -- 1994 LETS GO REUNITED OILERS! --- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • This is ridiculous. Leetch, Ritcher, Kovalev, Zubov, and Nemchinov all were Rangers draft picks. In order to acquire all those players from EDM and CHI they had to trade Tony Amonte, Doug Weight, and James Patrick. All Rangers draft picks. In it's own way that's building from within you dolt. Also kinda funny how you fail to mention that Zubov leads the team in points that season. Ritcher records 42 wins (along with 16 in the playoffs) and Leetch wins the Conn Smythe.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC -- ahhhhh haaaaa haaaaa haaaa! -- you were only able to name 3 players on that 1994 team that were original N.Y. Rangers! there were actually a total of just 6 players on that team that came through the Rangers system. Guess where the other 13 came from. You got it - EDMONTON ( 7 ) + Assistant Coach Colin Cambell - CHICAGO ( 5 ) + Coach Keenan and Healy from NYI. -- ahhhhhhh haaaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaaa! --- HANG A BANNER - HANG A BANNER! -- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • @ghytgb Last time I checked the NHL records, the 1994 Stanley Cup Champions are the NEW YORK RANGERS. I can't seem to remember Brian Leetch, Alexei Kovalev or Mike Richter hoisting the cup with Edmonton.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC - As if I'm in any way bothered by something that occured 17 yrs ago! -- Guess what retard! - the Devils got knocked out of the playoffs 11 times since 1994. Do you believe I dislike every team that knocked them out? Try again dip shit! Oh yeah - HANG A BANNER! - 1994 LETS GO OILERS!
