I remember in the late 80s every friday night about 2.00am they used to do a feature on the TV called "Dead Of Night" when they would show a horror film, usually Hammer films. I used to video them and watch them next morning. One friday they showed this. I recorded it and watched it next morning and I remember the opening theme just got me instantly and I've never forgotten it. Its easily the best theme for any Hammer film. Definately one of the top 3 films Hammer ever did.

Franz Reizenstein's score is easily the finest music that was ever composed for a Hammer Film. It's a great pity that he did not write more music for films. He obviously had a terrific flair for filmusic. However, he did had a distinguished career as a teacher, concert pianist, as well as composer of works for the concert hall. I'm sure we'd all like to hear more of his music on Youtube!

Sure Christopher, I agree that the Mummy is one of the best films that Hammer did, and my brother and I, admire you as the best "monster" of every film. You are a great actor!

It could have been nicer to make the Mummy's mouth covered. Could have made him scarier.

Christopher Lee's voice is so powerful like he's a king or lord that's why he was greatest Dracula/Mummy ever that regal air about him came from within......The Darthside lol!

There were several Mummy films :) not as much as the Draculas but i think there are three of four Mummy films :)
Such a great film... i love Hammer Films!

This music is among the greatest music ever composed for any film, period. It would have been great to see Hammer do a Mummy series like their Dracula and Frankenstein. Too bad.
