American's have no understanding of the history of the IOC. A typical return to a country for the summer games is 50 years plus not 20 years. America until the vote for 1996 never won a summer games hosting via vote. Nothing at all shocking if you know Los Angeles bid 9 times going to voting sessions and was never awarded in a vote . Twice LA rescued the IOC when no country wished to host the games. The IOC also wants control of your federal government to write cheques for their games.
