Whisper: The Haunted

This is the unedited beginning of my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm going to finish it, edit it several times, then upload it to SmashWords for free downloading.

While reading this I was plagued by Fred, one of my cats, hence some pauses in the reading and the error where I say "Fish" instead of "Alistair".

The novel is about a ghost who haunts a house and the mystery behind the reason he haunts. In the process of discovering the secrets which lie behind his death and unrest, the main characters are led into danger.

How many words will the finished novel be roughly?

@FoxyGrandpaYo About 80k, possibly slightly more. It's already 50k, which I wrote during NaNo. Once I've finished the first draft it'll need lots of editing, which will take about another 2 or 3 months.

@muskndusk Oh wow so a full length novel; very impressive. Had you considered submitting it to a publishers?

@FoxyGrandpaYo I'm going to give this one away for nothing from SmashWords to try to establish a fan base. I might do a print on demand publication of a paperback version and sell it at an amount which will cover printing costs and a little extra. I might go to a standard publisher with a later book. I've been writing for a while and may give away a collection of short stories in ebook formats on SmashWords.
