Okay I am portuguese and i got a few comments,A we don't eat bull meat it's too tuff.B the knives as you call it aren't knives, they area 1/2 inch spikes hooked to the rod.C the spike hits the out layer of the bulls back .the bull has 7 more to go through.D why we do it well it goes back to the Roman times,E we don't kill the bull if we do we are looking at 10 yrs in prison.

See the feathers in the bull's back? They are attached to a 6 inch knife that is sunk into the bull in order to make him angry. Bulls aren't aggressive by nature... they are made aggressive by being tortured with sleep deprivation, being fed laxatives, having wet newspaper put into their ears and Vaseline rub bed into their eyes in the lead up to the fight. The things hanging off their backs are spears. 4:45 look at the blood glistening on that poor creatures back. Barbaric.
