@JON3SY1000 Ermm, just a minute, David Duckham, JPR, and all those guys would certainly test current teams.. The points that are lost today are finesse, tactics, and teamwork... we need to look back to these heroes to remind us about those qualities..

if those players played against a team now they wouldn't run A STEP.

David Duckham, Derek Quinnell, John Dawes, JPR Williams, Mike Gibson, Fergus Slattery, then back to JPR. All legends.

@burnleyfan11965 Yes, Slattery was a superb player, a real dynamo.

This wasn't even a full strength British team- there were a few uncapped players, 2 Welsh greats Mervyn Davies and Gerald Davies weren't playing and the sublime Barry John had retired. Just as well for the All Blacks. Anyway, the match was sewn up by half-time, with a scintillating display the All Blacks simply couldn't contain.

@floppykid very true, great speed on him for a flankerWas a pity most of the Irish sides he played in struggled.Certainly contributed a lot to the Lions in 74

Slattery was some player.
David duckham beat 5 players on that run and took two to tackle him. Thats half a team for one guy. LEGEND
