  • Some idiot at the gas station turned off my pump because I was on my cell

  • Good! Another retarded myth killed!

  • @leviathon, the membrane switches dont have enough current to cause a spark..

  • @Cherelleyy When I did my fire fighting course... lol

  • Because no one is pressing buttons when the phone is ringing. press a button, it creates a spark... period. Even if only small....

  • @Cherelleyy it's is called snopes - it is the dictionary of urban legends. just have to google "snopes mobile phone gas" or "Facts About Cell Phones and Fires at Gas Stations" ... and you will see what I mean about an urban legend

  • They actually withdrew their statement..

  • @Kelly2357 where exactly did you get your facts from.... lol

  • except getting your cell phone out of your pocket can create static electricity so it is still true that you should not use cell phones. A spark can possibly be created by the cell phone being dropped. So while it is true cell phone itself doesn't cause a problem using one potentially can.

  • It really is an urban legend!

It has been spread around so much that if has become almost true legend.

Not a single mobile phone in history has even been proven to have caused a gas station fire.

People just have to google "snopes mobile phone gas" or "Facts About Cell Phones and Fires at Gas Stations" ... and you will see what I mean about an urban legend gone wrong!
