I have this but haven't spent much time playing it. Why do you appear to be avoiding some of the power ups?

If you stuck on a hard zone, just pause the game, and put into the Konami Code. You'll get invincibility. Konami Code: up up down down left right left right B A.

I played that a bunch on NES. It was really a great game. I think my friend got his NES joystick just because of that game always beating him with the regular NES pad. I haven't played it on PCengine yet. Another great review Snow!

Man, NES Gradius is the reason I used to hate horizontal shmups when I was a kid. I'd get so frustrated. Luckily Thunder Force III cured me of that hate and now I love Gradius as well.

@Obviously LOL! My Mom always tells me that I used to cry when I played Gradius as a kid, though I refuse to remember any of that.

I like the style of your review.
It's dynamic and straight to the point, and that's what I like about such videos.
Just one minor correction, probably someone has already pointed it out: the bone level is exclusive to the PCE version, it's not present in the arcade original.

@KollisionBR Yeah someone totally did point that out. I had never played through an arcade version of Gradius, so I always just assumed that the PCE version was 100% accurate. I guess it is, PLUS a level!
