Decided to make this the feature video on my channel in antipation of the release of Precious set to release in limited theater on November 6th and I believe everywhere November 20th

I'm currently re-reading this one for like maybe the 8th time.

This ia a new series I'll be doing once a month. I'll read a book of my own choosing or you the viewer can send request to my inbox or to dontbafraid2thinktvprod@yahoo.com.

This is one of my favorite books and would highly recommend it. However be cautious because it's raw and in your face.If you're uncomfortable with rape, abuse, coarse language then maybe this isn't the book for you.
A great read and only about 150 pages so you can finishe it fairly quickly. I recommend reading this novel before you see the film, which isn't set for release until November 6,2009,so you have plenty time.

Meet the Artist:Director Lee Daniels

Here's a right up about the film (release date November 6,2009) from themovieinsider.com:
With sheer audacity and utter authenticity, director Lee Daniels tackles "Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire" and creates an unforgettable film that sets a new standard for cinema of its kind. Precious Jones (Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe) is a high-school girl with nothing working in her favor. She is pregnant with her father's child - for the second time. She can't read or write, and her schoolmates tease her for being fat. Her home life is a horror, ruled by a mother (Mo'Nique) who keeps her imprisoned both emotionally and physically. Precious's instincts tell her one thing: if she's ever going to break from the chains of ignorance, she will have to dig deeply into her own resources. Don't be misled - "Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire" is not a film wallowing in the stillness of depression; instead, it vibrates with the kind of energy derived only from anger and hope. The entire cast are amazing; they carry out a firestorm of raw emotion. Daniels has drawn from them inimitable performances that will rivet you to your seat and leave you too shocked to breathe. If you passed Precious on the street, you probably wouldn't notice her. But when her story is revealed, as Daniels does in this courageous film, you are left with an indelible image of a young woman who - with creativity, humor, and ferocity - finds the strength to turn her life around.

  • My bad. I probably did fly off the deep end. I was a little offended by that "Nice try though." I didn't say you didn't have internet access, but one would think you'd be reading some new scripts instead of trippin' off how your name is pronounced on the internet. PEACE!

  • Um ok then. I was joking about the respect a sisters name part. I thought i was funny lol. It is a difficult name. but it is pronounced the way I said and I've heard it pronounced in all sorts of screwed up ways but never like that.

Ps, I don't know why you don't think this girl has internet access and enough boredom in her to google her name to see what comes up. Later!

  • Respect a sister's name? How about a sister respect that everyone ain't gone get that stuff right all the time. That's the way I heard it pronounced. How is it you have the same name as the girl in the film? I know you aren't really her

  • No. It's my name. You need to respect a sisters name. lol

  • Damn, is this your chick or somethin?? When you say it fast its the SAME thing

  • lol. It is not! lol. A lifetime of people "basically" saying it wrong. There's no "OH" sound.

  • Uh, yeah...that's basically what I just said
