April 2, 1986.
The first 30 years of As the World Turns are commemorated with Chris and Nancy Hughes' 50th wedding anniversary, teen angst at the Snyder farm and questions about Douglas Cummings' death. In this clip:

  • Thanks for posting this. For those of us that watched way back when, it is a wonderful trip down memory lane.

  • @doublenickelgal You're welcome.

  • Helen's death truly marks the end of As the World Turns. GOODBYE Helen Wagner(Nancy) you will be missed.

  • @thug00187 Yes, at this point it's almost like the final episode doesn't matter.

  • I think TPTB need to get Helen Wagner to film the very final ATWT scene in advance, just in case (since she's in her 90s I believe).

  • The 2010 ATWT doesn't deserve for her to read one more script, let alone show up and act it out.

  • I love this!

  • Makes me weep, and remember the first time I watched this. Good times

  • Wonderful

  • What a Great Tribute to ATWT and to the characters of Nancy & Chris Hughes.

Hard to believe ATWT is ending. I thought they have given thiss how more time.

  • This episode couldn't have been made with more genuine love and respect for its own history, and the genre itself! I genuinely feel as though Im about to lose a longtime family member. These serials were designed to run indefinitely, and it could have been salvaged, but alas, Oakdale's lives will have to continue outside of our prying eyes ! :(

  • Perfectly written by Douglas Marland and perfectly weaved together. I hope Jean and Goutman watched this over and over before the last episode was filmed.

  • I've watched this clip many times, and I never fail to be moved at the genuine emotion, the care in which the other actors treat Don McLaughlin, and the artful blending of old clips over the credits.
