I had the "HONOR" of being in the cast of this great production in 1990. You would not believe what goes on behind the scenes. Children studying and doing homework for school the next day, adults sitting studying the Bible and discussing it with one another. Then the play begins and everyone is on set and for that brief time they ARE living in the last days of Christ life.

The first time I saw the play I was so moved and made my Salvation more real.

I heard for YEARS that this place was going to close because of athiests and motorcycle gangs and "gays" lol but it closed for the reason I always figured it might: economic factors. I really did like this place but the food at the eating place wasn't so great and the seating was extremely uncomfortable. Also it gets cold at night when the play is going on, even in the summer, and people bring screaming kids/babies, it was a so/so experience. Christ Of The Ozarks should get protected status.

So sad that it is over. They closed their gates today 12-5-2012. Thanks to the economy they can no longer afford to stay open. According to the press release you will not even be able to get close to the Christ statue.

I remember seeing this when i was nine i am now 32 and i still remember going here with my church all the way from dallas,tx.i encourage people to take there family to see it.
