BASEBALL WINTER MEETINGS
Las Vegas, NV. 12/08/08
The Baseball Winter Meetings are an annual December gathering of professional baseball executives open only to major and minor league members, Baseball Trade Show exhibitors, participants at the Professional Baseball Employment Opportunities job fair, media and affiliated parties. There have been over 100 Baseball Winter Meetings in the event's history, and 2008 marked the first time Las Vegas was selected to host the largest baseball related trade show in the world.
The Latino presence goes beyond their participation as attendees and exhibitors in these meetings. For the first time in professional baseball, an all-Latino team of baseball players, the Latin Stars, has been announced among those who have a voice in the sports network. This team will travel with the US Military All Stars across United States to play against professional teams in over 40 cities.
The Latin Stars is operated by Boston Baseball All-Stars, a revolutionary enterprise that currently owns five teams, including the US Military All Stars, the Pittsfield American Defenders, and the American Defenders of New Hampshire, among others.
We are looking forward to seeing this team of Latino players bringing our passion for baseball to the ballparks of America!
So this latino team excludes people based on their race? I thought this is what latino's were against.

Contrary to a common misconception, Latino is a culture (often mistaken with ethnicity, geographic home country), whereas race is the categorization of humans into populations or groups on the basis of various sets of heritable characteristics. This means that you can have Latinos from all races participating in the team.
