religion is irrelevant, if there is a GOD he made everything not just the earth, and people justify there lives by their believes, so the question of religion is more about what you believe and how you need to relieve your sins. But you sir are the Man.. love your ideas and theory's. Merry Christmas

metascience? i suppose that means religion? it's giving religion a lot more credit than it deserves i reckon to label it as a form of science. there is no apparent method to its madness. nothing like science.

"Religion is [...] basic understanding of where we came from"

Religion is not an understanding of where we came from on any level and in any sense of the word.

it may be interesting to live with doubt and uncertainty but it is also anxiety provoking. hence, people remain the same and believe the same norms, mores and maintain the same outlook that their culture, parents did and they did as children.

soren kierkegaard wrote much about this.

having different eyes for a thing allows us to understand it more in it's entirety.

hes right about this....i know from experience...apart of nature is concealed from man's eyes for better or for worse...i think for better thought there are things we cannot understand or get close enough to understand...and by the time we think we can understand it it will ineveitably change...there are no absolutes...and truth boils down to interpretation...
